How can I become a library member?
To become a library member, users can contact our library specialists at the information desk to complete the membership process.
Can I borrow books without being a library member?
You cannot borrow books without being a library member. Library rules require users to be a library member.
How can I search the catalog?
You can use the relevant link here (Nişantaşı University catalog search) to search the library’s printed resources. After specifying your search criteria, you can search the library catalog by title, author, ISBN, etc.
How many books can I borrow at a time and for how many days?

Can I borrow periodicals?
Periodicals cannot be borrowed; they can only be used within the library.
What are reference sources, and how can I borrow them?
Dictionaries, atlases, encyclopedias, and almanacs are reference sources. They cannot be borrowed and are used within the library.
Can I borrow a publication on behalf of someone else?
Users can only use their own ID cards to process items; they cannot be used on behalf of someone else.
Can I extend the loan period of the items I borrow?
If the resource you’ve borrowed hasn’t been reserved by someone else, you can renew it once.
How is the renewal process carried out?
You can apply for it at the information desk of our library by using the resource you’ve borrowed and your institutional ID card. To renew online and view your holdings, you can do so by logging in to the Nişantaşı University catalog search section. Academic and administrative staff members must enter their student number in the membership code field, and their Turkish ID number in the search bar.
I need a resource, but it’s been borrowed by another user. What should I do?
You should log in to the Nişantaşı University catalog search section and search for the resource you want in the search bar. You can place a reserve by selecting the reserve button in the bottom left corner of the desired resource. You will receive an email notification when the resource you’ve reserved arrives at our library. The reserved resource will be kept on hold for three days. If it isn’t checked out within three days, it will be removed from the library shelf.
What is the fine for overdue items?
There is a daily overdue fine of 50 KRŞ for each book.
How can I pay the overdue fee?
The overdue fee is paid with a NISH (institutional identification) card.
I lost a borrowed item. What should I do?
You must report the lost item to the library and bring it back with a duplicate copy.
What are the library’s opening hours?
Our library is open weekdays from 8:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
